Foreign Representative Offices

documents required to be presented for opening a Foreign Company's Representative Office in the Great Jamahiriya :

1- Decision of the Board of Directors of the Company for approval to open a representative office thereto in the Great Jamahiriya.
2- Memorandum and articles of association of the Company.
3- Nomination of the Representative Office Manager either within the decision of Board of Directors to open a representative office in the Great Jamahiriya or under a separate resolution (subject to the condition that the manager of the representative office should be holding the nationality of the Company or be a Libyan).
4- A fresh Commercial Extract from the Commercial Register Office or a certificate of registration with the Chamber of Commerce for countries where there is no commercial register. .


Remarks:

  • The documents required shall be enclosed with an official letter to the General Administration of Corporate and Commercial Registers in one original and one copy.
  • All Documents submitted should be original.
  • Documents in foreign language should be attested by the Libyan People’s Bureau (Embassy) in the country of Mother Company.
  • Documents shall be translated in the Great Jamahiriya by a sworn translator and attested by the office of Authentication at the general Department of Consular Affairs.
